A place where you can watch The Gos

Last night Francesca and I went to see Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes' new eagerly anticipated (by Fran and myself) indie film, A place beyond the pines.

At a long 140mins, you'd be expecting a lot of Gosling ooogling but alas, he's not in it for the duration. What you do see of him is, as always I find, effortlessly, brilliant acting. I do find my eyes turn into hearts whenever I watch him... Swoon!
Like most leading men they have a complimenting leading lady and Mendes did not disappoint; she was superb. You believed every emotion she was going through and together they made the film.

Bradley Cooper was short haired in this movie which completely changes his appearance for me ( I much prefer him long haired and rugged, playing a confused, hungover Phil). He portrayed the moron (in my opinion) Cop turned big shot politician. He plays douche bag charecters so well... Wedding crashers, He's just not that into you...
Cooper was the glue in the middle of this story and maybe his character was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anywho, I don't want to disclose anymore and spoil it for you.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. It left me feeling a little sad but also proud of certain characters at the end (and made us ponder on how long it would have taken make up artists to do all of Goslings tattoos??)

A must see! 3.75 out of 5
